Please meet lovely Tasha

We asked Tasha to make us some masks for one of our recent shoots as we fell in love with her work and enthusiasm.
So here she is …

My name is Tasha-Ruth Elcox. I’m 18 years old and art and design is one of my passions. I studied art at school . I class myself as an ‘all rounder’ in art as I had to deal with nearly every kind of media possible to create pieces of work.
However, backstage and design only recently became a big thing for me in the last 3 years.

If you asked me what inspires me to design, I’d honestly have to say a lot of things. I could be inspired by an everyday occurrence like seeing a poster advertising a musical or even watching Strictly Come Dancing every Saturday. For designing costume my main inspiration is imagining the final product being used for the purpose I designed it for. It could be imagining a costume on stage under all the lights, being performed in or imagining a fashion design being used for a photo shoot. That’s the moment that inspires me.
As I’ve only done set design for school productions at my old school, the thing that inspires me most is that first look at the set on the stage with lights and then the knowledge that I’ve helped the director create their vision.
They’re the moments I live for. Nothing can beat them.

Spirituality

Spirituality doesn’t mean you have to sit in a candle lit room burning incense, or wear orange robes and shave your head…of course you can go ahead with it, if it is what makes you tick. We want to talk about the connection between yourself and all around you.You don’t have to be religious to be spiritual. It is a way of finding yourself and claiming your place.Wish big and keep positive, as this will attract good stuff the more you indulge in negative thoughts the more you attract shit.Let go of frustrations don’t carry them around with you express them and then move on.Connect with the stars, the moon, the sun, the wind, the trees , the animals, the earth as they all carry some beautiful energy just like yourself .Take a minute each night to reflect and listen to your breathing and just be aware of what is going on inside you. It is so much better to go to sleep with a smile on your face and thinking of something beautiful instead of with tears and stones in your stomach.

Kiya-Writer

I'm Kiya, 27 year old writer from a small town in Hampshire. I have always been into writing and have written songs and poetry since my early teens. As a teenager I was very much so into DJing and making my own music. And was so from the age of 12. My music helped me keep out of the madness that was going on around me and kept me from going down the wrong path. But around the age of 21, music kind of took the back burner as I decided to take the "sensible" route down the career path. I started One Line A Day as a bit of fun really, a way to get back into writing songs and poetry, trying to shift the ongoing writer's block haunting both my mind and right hand. But as I got further along and sticking to it religiously, I decided to try and make something of it. Now I am still writing one poem in my book everyday with the hope that one day people may read it. Wether they love it, hate it, or just skim through it. As long as they read it. I guess my story is one of that you should never be afraid to chase your dreams. Never sell yourself short and give up on what you believe in. Just because it is your dream, it doesn't mean it can't become reality

Kiya x

Unwelcoming eyes. Taunting, shooting the messenger. I changed my face for you, tore my skin off and wore camouflage for you, pulled my hair out for you. Did you ever see the true being inside? Did you ever see any man for man? Cruel acceptance, withering through time. Endless expectation

Keep Out of my head- Shoot

On Sunday we set out to Wokingham in Berkshire to shoot 5 new stories.
Keep out is the first one, outside a beautiful little barn owned by a very nice old lady, who allowed us in and around , to do our thing.
"Keep out of my head" is about the retreating and reflecting of oneself, leaving the known behind embracing the unknown and dealing with confusion and loneliness.
